If there are units that can deliver better than 320x240, it must be that the firmware on my unit has gone awry. (I accept guesses.)Īs fun as an exercise this was, I unfortunately have to return this 320x240 resolution scope. But you can't tell the original 640 from the resampled. You can tell which one is the 1280x1024 as it's more blurry due to increased pixel density from interpolation, but the actual resolution is clearly identical. proves the 320x240 resolution, containing three crops: an original 1280x1024 still, an original 640x480, and the 640x480 resized to 320x240 and back to 640x480. miXscope resolution is the same between 640x4x1024: vs. It seems I can't attach my files due to 1MB limit, so I had to use links. And based on my previous testing, I assume this behaviour is the same across all my computers and OS's, no use spending time going around again… Window ratio changes a bit between resolutions, so the miXscope would seem to work, but the scope isn't delivering. So now I get the miXscope to show video for 1280x1024, BUT the resolution is exactly the same as with 640x480, which is actually 320x240. Thanks, it seems I just have to select the device menu a couple times before it appears. (I don't have older versions of the OS's available right now, for testing the camera.)Īny info about the OS support, or ideas of what to try? Or is the scope just somehow bonkers? I suppose it may be possible that there just isn't any compatible software available for Mavericks or Windows 8. Per se, I'm not sure about the OS version support of either app. Makes the video low-res, though, which demeans the purpose of being able to do detailed visual inspection. I also noticed that even the 800圆00 resolution is clearly interpolated (still crop, original ), but even though it's annoying, I suppose it may be per spec. miXscope doesn't give any options for the resolution, just “Device Current Resolution”, which is 640x480. MicroCapture lets to change the resolution, but selecting anything higher than 800圆00 just stops updating the video, and also stills capture stops working. I've tried MicroCapture on both OS X Mavericks and Windows 8, and miXscope on Mavericks.
